For 2012 the 38’ Shelter Island Runabout was offered with optional twin Yanmar diesel engines rated at 315 hp apiece. This one owner Runabout is new to the market and features many options. the engines have extremely low hours on them. One of two ever built with teak side, fore and aft decks plus teak trunk cabin sides. If you like teak and fine woodworking this is one boat you should definitely take a look at.
Down below sleeps two in an oversized double with available filler cushion. When not used as a bunk the V berth area is laid out as two generous sofas with upholstered backrests. An extra large hanging locker forward, shelving and a bureau with book locker easily handle a couples cruising needs for space. There are reading lamps over the bunks and fans to circulate air. The interior is finished in soft white Awlgrip with satin varnished cherry trim and a varnished teak cabin sole. The head has a stainless sink and Scandvik fixture set on a varnished teak countertop. There’s a hand held shower in the head with automatic sump pump. There’s ample locker space for towels and toiletries plus a teak framed mirror is mounted on the bulkhead.
