The Tayana 37 is a much sought-after, Bob Perry designed, cruising classic. Athena is a 2-cabin, 1-head, heavy displacement, full-keel vessel and is currently in the water in Lancaster, VA. You will be hard-pressed to find a boat of this model in such good condition.
The Tayana 37 is known for it's sea-kindliness and offshore performance capabilities. The canoe stern helps push the water away from the cockpit and helps the boat ride out big weather in relative comfort - you are unlikely to get 'pooped' in this boat. The cutter rig allows the crew to set the sails on an upwind course and the boat will track without much need to touch the helm. Downwind, one can pole out the sails or use the cruising spinnaker.
The current owners have owned her for 30 years and cruised extensively during that time. Not only have the owners of Athena 'used and cruised' her, they have done numerous significant, 'big ticket' upgrades over the years.

The galley is to port of the solid teak companionway stairs & engine cover. It is well configured with double sink, large stove and refrigerator as well as lots of storage.
To starboard is the private aft cabin with bifold door, a single berth (or cozy double), storage locker as well as good ventilation through 2 portlights. Forward of the aft cabin is the Nav Station with electronics and electrical panel within easy reach and storage below. The Starboard settee doubles as a seat for the Nav station. There is ample storage below, behind and above the settee and 2 large hanging lockers & drawers forward. Above the storage lockers are custom bookshelves and storage cuddies.
To port, forward of the galley is the U-shaped dinette with a teak table that lowers to form a double berth. Storage, below, behind and above.
The Head is port, forward with head, basin & shower... and more storage. The forward cabin has a double Pullman berth to port, with step-up/seat and storage cabinet on the starboard side as well as shelving along each hull and teak strips along the hull-sides. Ventilation is through a large hatch and 2 opening portlights.
