2010 Class 40 Akilaria RC1

A very impressive Akilaria RC1 with racing cockpit and central navigation station, built in 2008 but only launched in July 2010 (Class 40 no. 97) and little used by her first owner. This was one of the last of the RC1s on the water with all the very latest features of that generation built into her. Major changes from before are replaced rod rigging in 2015, new check stays in 2016, new PBO inner forestay in 2017, New wooden tillers in 2019, New A2 spinnaker from GP Sails (insurance replacement) Old North A2 was split in two but has now been repaired and is a good sail. The new owners have added an Origo alcohol oven and stove - the alcohol ovens are rare and expensive. Also added, a battery charger, shore power, calorifier for hot water, electric pumped water and a fridge. All easy to remove for racing, but makes cruising a very enjoyable experience, while sacrificing little in terms of performance. This is a genuine dual purpose Class 40 that can be cruised in comfort but still surfs and hits Class 40 speeds. Perfect for channel hops, offshore racing or fast passage long distance cruising.
