W.I.B. Crealock, a renowned naval architect, is the designer of this exceptional yacht. He is one of the world's most knowledgeable and respected designers of offshore sailing yachts. With Diva he certainly succeeded in designing a boat that defines a bluewater passagemaker. She's solidly built with safety in mind and the double-ender design with beautiful overhangs makes for a very good looking yacht.
The exceptional teak joinery work creates a very warm and inviting interior that features ample storage and comfortable areas for the crew and guests. All the details have been addressed - great ventilation, ample safety rails and a beautiful teak and holly cabin floor that has hatches which are secured with latches. Down below the salon features a comfortable arrangement for the crew and guests. Along the starboard side is an L-shaped settee that will convert into a double berth. On the port side of the salon is a straight settee which will also double as an adult sleeping berth. In the center of the salon is a beautiful solid teak table with two folding leafs and center storage. The large galley is designed to make food preparation easy while underway. Across from the galley is the forward facing navigation station which features a large chart table and a comfortable seat. In the port aft corner of the boat is a large quarter berth that makes for a great berth when underway. The well ventilated head is located forward along the starboard side. The forward stateroom has a double sleeping area, two large lockers, additional storage compartments and a seat with a dressing area.
The exterior features wide side decks with 5" tall bulwarks for added safety. All sail control lines are led aft to the cockpit, plus the self-bailing cockpit has safety harness padeyes. Diva's deck and cockpit take into account the importance of the crews safety when anchoring, docking, maneuvering and sailing.
If you are in the market for that exceptional cruising boat, don't miss this opportunity.
Diva's galley has Corian counter tops with teak sea rails and deep polished stainless steel double sinks. Plus there are several storage areas for food and dish wares. The galley is conveniently located close to the cockpit and is designed for cooking underway.
The heart of Diva's mechanical systems is the very dependable Yanmar 4JH3E 50hp diesel. This engine's quiet operation and more than adequate power make motoring or maneuvering in tight spots seem effortless. Plus the SidePower SE80 variable pitch bow thruster (2014) makes short handed boating very easy. The engine room is well insulated and organized plus offers excellent access from both the main cabin and the cockpit floor hatch.
The hull features a fin keel and a rudder with a full skeg. The skeg is slightly longer than the rudder for added protection. The good looking canoe stern helps retain control in steep, following seas. The raised bulwarks offer a heightened sense of security as well as giving a good toe grip when heeled.
Diva's hull color is white with a dark blue boot strip and cove stripe. Deck and cabin are white with molded-in nonskid. Brightwork has four coats of Setol Light topcoated with four coats of Cetal Gloss.
For protection on those cool days (plus the very warm ones) there is a Wavestopper hard dodger with a bimini and connector panel (new canvas and strataglass in 2017). The dodger has weather covers for the strataglass.
The cutter rig has long been the favorite sailplan for offshore sailors, it gives unmatched versatility and added performance. Diva's sails include a full batten Ullman mainsail with Lazy Jacks (Lazy Jacks replaced in 2019), an Ullamn staysail and genoa. Sails have been cleaned and serviced on an annual basis. The aluminum mast was repainted in 2018.
The Pacific Seacraft 37 is a superb high-performance cruising yacht that incorporates all the qualities an experienced sailor looks for in "a proper yacht," such as seaworthiness, premium quality, exceptional performance, comfort and beauty. She has a modern split keel and skeg rudder underbody. She's sleek, beautiful, and a brilliant performer in all conditions, as was proven by her remarkable and repeated performance in the recent Singlehanded Transpacific Yacht Race. She'll accommodate six and has features specifically designed for extended ocean voyages. The speed of the Pacific Seacraft 37 is already legendary, but performance in a cruising boat requires much more. A cruising boat must have a comfortable motion at sea and be well-balanced under sail so the crew does not have to fight the boat every yard of the way. The Crealock 37 was carefully designed for an easy motion. When you are shorthanded and you grow weary of those long night watches, a balanced boat can make a world of difference. In addition to her beauty, comfort, and sailing ability, the Pacific Seacraft 37 offers engineering and construction that is unsurpassed. Her fiberglass hull and deck are built to the most rigorous specifications, 100 per cent hand laid-up and squeegeed to remove all excess resin for optimum strength-to-weight ratio. Deck strength and insulation are increased with high-compressive-strength plywood core construction. Cored hull construction is available. Throughout the cabin, a soft white matte finish provides just the right counterpoint for the abundant hand-rubbed teak joinery. Sunlight and fresh air pour in from ten polished bronze opening ports and two large deck hatches.
