ICE 80 Racer – Fast bluwater Cruiser .
The design has focused on a fast and confortable “all round” yacht, for demanding owners who desire to win Mediterranean Maxi yachts circuit and long range regattas.
The hull shape is the result of the most advanced CFD researches, tested in every condition before becoming effective.
A major challenge was combining performances in all situations with special attention to down-wind condition occurring in offshore races and good reaction to light winds and short waves typical of Mediterranean races.
On top of this, the confortable and safe sailing during cruising has been part of the analysis.
All those expectations will not be disappointed.
For many aspects, hull shape is in line with last improvements in the one design class fleet.
An important stern relatively low on water, a powerful bow, a restrained main section and a great balance between form stability and wet surface are some of the main characteristics.
The form stability guarantees power and easy steering also in strong wind conditions both racing and cruising around the world.
A low wet surface allow top performances and good waves passage also in the most difficult conditions in the Mediterranean Sea
A state of the art lifting keel with a draught ranging from 3,20 to 5 meters will allow performance under sail and shallow waters anchorages.
The deep rudder transmits a safety sensation to helmsman and crew and maximum and precise control to the boat.
Construction techniques follow the project philosophy. A vacuum infusion of carbon fibers optimizes the weights, allowing a 28 tons displacement in racing conditions
An essential interior layout matched with the use of lightened materials is the obvious consequence of the project philosophy, with interior elements often combined with carbon structure itself.
All those aspects result in an “aggressive” interpretation of the yacht during demanding offshore races.
