With her high freeboard and prominent bow, the Pro-Line 29 Grand Sport offers something different in a mid-size center console boat. She is, as Pro-Line enthusiasts often claim, a big 29-footer, and her deep cockpit spells extra security for all concerned. Others argue that the Grand Sport’s extremely tall gunwales have no real purpose, serving only to block the view from the helm. (Indeed, Pro-Line designers had to put a 4-inch pedestal at the helm just to see over the bow.) Regardless of one’s take on these matters, the Grand Sport is a very roomy boat with plenty of fishing space in both the cockpit and bow area. The dash features a huge electronics flat and can support several large-screen units, while the walk-in head compartment is among the largest in her class. Standard features include a leaning post with backrest and 50-gallon livewell, two large in-deck fish boxes, foldaway transom seat, fresh and saltwater washdowns, fold-away rear seat, and transom door. Low-profile bow rails and pop-up cleats prevent line snags. Note that the entire console hinges forward for wiring access. Twin 250hp Merc outboards deliver a top speed in the neighborhood of 45 knots.
