The Broom 42CL offers a wide cruising potential. The hydraulic arch easily & quickly reduces bridge clearance while the side exit and wide step less side decks make rope & fender handling safe and easy. The small keel makes the boat stable at low speed while the power makes for easy sea crossing. Accommodation comprises of four berths in two cabins, each with their own toilet, wash basin & shower. Designed by Andrew Wolstenholme, the Broom 42cl is a good fast cruising seaboat which is capable of, and most suitable for, cruising the inland waterways of Europe. With the capability of speeds up to 28 knots and cruising speed well in excess of 22 knots, the 42 is a truly serious cruising boat with the excellent handling qualities, comfort, and superb finish on which Brooms have built their reputation.
The Broom 42CL offers 6 berths in 3 cabins. The Interior Finish is Cherry with a silk finish. Upholstery finished in cream leather.
GALLEY: Gas oven, three burner gas hob, extractor fan and hob light. Microwave oven & refrigerator. 1 1/2 bowl sink with mixer tap fitted into plenty of Avonite work surface. Pan drawer, large under sink cupboard floor locker. Further stowage in the dinette is only a step away.
HEATING: 2 x Webasto fan assisted diesel - fired heaters drawing from the main fuel tanks. Hot air outlets in aft cabin, saloon, dinette, forward cabin cockpit. During warm weather the system can be used to circulate air without heating it.
The Broom 42CL is powered by twin turbo charged Volvo Penta D60 six-cylinder diesel engines producing 370hp each with light usage of 1,000 hours. Shaft drive to bronze 4 bladed propellers. Bow thruster also fitted for manageability. Engines serviced every year by a local marine engineer.
6 x 12 volt batteries (2014) charging from the engine alternator, 240-volt battery charger. 240-volt ring main installed as well as an immersion heater, and inverter. Generator (Fisher Panda 4Kva circa 200 hours)
Owned by the current owner from new, selling as he is retiring from boating after 30 happy years. The Broom has been regularly serviced, last out of water service in April 2016, gas certified June 2015. A beautifully presented boat viewing highly recommended.
