Once in a while a unique, custom yacht comes to the market that is something truly special and deserves attention. MAMIE is one of those opportunities!
She shines with rarely found attention to all details. Her owner wanted a simple and easily handled yacht that would comfortably take him and his guests for coastal cruises and picnics. She motors along at an economical cruising speed of 8 knots, with a miserly fuel consumption 1 1/2 GPH! MAMIE is also easily transported by her own custom trailer to new destinations with relative ease.
This is a rare, unique and wonderful moment for the right buyer to purchase a truly "Turn Key" down-east beauty!

MAMIE was originally commissioned and launched in 2005 as MARTHA V, a collaboration between the builder and the designer Bob Stephens of the Brooklin Boat Yard. Construction is cold molded. The hull is four layers of cedar - the first layer is 1/2 inch atlantic white cedar tongue & groove, set fore and aft, fastened with bronze screws, followed by three layers of 1/8 inch Spanish cedar set in epoxy and vacuumed bagged. Hull is sheeted in 10 oz. cloth also set in epoxy (makes for a tough light hull). The structural members (engine stringers, deck beams, floor timbers, etc.) are all old-growth vertical grain douglas fir. The bulkheads and decks are Okume marine ply, sheeted in dynel cloth. The cabin trunk, combings, and cabinets are all mahogany. All fastenings are bronze as well as the rudder, strut, trough hulls, etc. Hull and deck are Awlgrip painted. Fixed trim tabs designed by Bob Stephens were installed in 2014 to allow higher speeds.
The design hinged around the builders desire to have a vessel that could handle the intercostal waterways, yet be small enough to trailer to the bigger lakes in the Northeast. Originally cruised throughout the New York canal system, the Hudson River, and Chesapeake Bay, MAMIE is now cruising and picnicking along the Massachusetts coastline.
Large covered Pilot House/Cockpit with aft cushioned bench seat. Under the bench seat is ample storage for dock line and fenders. Cushioned engine box for additional seating.
Below is a comfortable cushioned V-berth with filler cushion and storage compartments underneath. To starboard is a countertop with single S.S. sink and cold pressure water, large cabinets beneath provide additional storage for dry goods, cleaning supplies, etc. To port is more countertop space with a single-burner alcohol cooktop and wood cutting board cover. There is shelf and cabinet storage beneath. There is also an enclosed head with a VacuFlush toilet and Tankwatch holding tank monitor.
