2002 Hanse 301 fitted with a Volvo MD2010 diesel engine with sail drive. 'Jacaranda' has had 4 owners from new and has been kept in fresh water (Lake Windermere) since 2006 and she had her sail drive seal changed in 2012. She benefits from a high specification including Webasto heating, Bruntons autoprop, rope cutter, Garmin GPS, Simrad VHF etc etc.

Offered for sale here is ‘Jacaranda’ our beautiful, well loved, clean and carefully maintained 30 foot 6 berth GRP sailing yacht. We have owned her for over ten years and are only selling her due to upgrading to a larger boat. She is from the respected and established German Hanse family (see https://www.hanseyachts.com/gb/boats/hanse-301/specification.html ) and offers good accommodation for a couple or small family, combining fantastic and easy sailing ability with compact dimensions and reasonable mooring & ownership costs.
Her narrow beam means great sailing ability, and she will carry on moving when others have long since ground to a halt in still airs. Like most small yachts she is a compromise with the available space being divided up between the living space areas. The rear double cabin is vast in terms of area, but does have restricted headroom. The front cabin is also very large, with some 33 foot boats not able to offer the same accommodation along with two wardrobes. The heads/toilet compartment in comparison is quite small but functional.
She is currently moored on Lake Windermere but would be equally at home on any inland lake or the sea.
She is rigged as a fractional sloop, and has the benefit of a deep fin keel (1.68m) giving outstanding sailing qualities so would appeal strongly to the racing fraternity. She sails on a sneeze in light airs (especially with the feathering propeller dramatically reducing drag), but can be highly entertaining (breathtakingly so) when the breeze picks up with no tendency to round up when the going gets tough. However, she is equally at home with a beginner as she is very easy to handle with the famous Hanse self tacking jib arrangement allowing easy short handed sailing. She has never been chartered or damaged and is in excellent all round condition having been last serviced in March 2016 at the start of the season. She has always been wintered ashore
