The Devlin Sockeye 42' has all the luxury of a finely crafted yacht with the nostalgic appeal of a classic work boat. The time tested aesthetic of classic wood, brass and bronze has been combined with state of the art technology to create a boat that is beautiful, comfortable, quiet, safe and easy to maintain. The Devlin Sockeye features cold molded composite construction which enhances the attributes of traditional fine wood vessels without the traditional maintenance and upkeep needs. Our "Stitch and Glue" method is a vastly superior approach when compared to traditional boat assembly methods and delivers stronger, better boats. The Devlin Method uses epoxy to bond and seal all parts together thereby achieving a stronger, one-piece boat design. The initial construction is quicker, easier, and needs fewer parts. This approach does not require expensive building molds. More importantly, it results in a boat that is much easier to maintain over the long term. One well-known test was done on various materials to find out how well they hold up under constant pressure. Each material was put under direct pressure for 1 million cycles for 30 hours at a time.
Straight Fiberglass kept only 22% of original strength
Aluminum kept 37% of original strength
Wood with epoxy kept 64% of original strength.
The John Deere 85 hp diesel provides 8 knot cruising speed at 2 gph. Through extensive SoundDown acoustic insulation, Aqua Drive, military engine mounts, wet exhaust and Db-Ply polymer layer plywood surrounding the engine compartment, the sound level at full power is just 63 DB in the pilothouse. On the bow underway, or standing next to it idling at the dock, there is virtually no engine or exhaust noise.
Elegant and refined, light filled and gleaming with wood, "John D. Bosler" surrounds you with beauty, while maintaining high levels of ease of use, safety and technology.
The Devlin Yachts are distinctive underway and classic in any Northwest harbor!
This is your chance to own a legend!
