Typical of Grand Banks quaility the Eastbay 38 has generous varnished teak joiner work below with a varnished teak and holly cabin sole. Superb natural light and ventilation with six polished stainless steel opening ports and one large hatch, all with screens. Two 16,000 BTU reverse cycle air conditioning units provide plenty of cooling or heating, as required. Artificial light is equally well thought out with polished chrome swivel reading lamps at all berths and settees and several overhead lamps as well.
Starting forward is the private Stateroom featuring a comfortable Island Queen below which there is storage in three large drawers. Above the berth the hull is lined with varnished teak ceilings and there is a full length underdeck storage cabinet P&S. Aft and to starboard is a bureau with three large drawers and to port are two lockers. Access to the chain locker, if required, is in the forward bulkhead.
Next aft and to port is the Enclosed Head with ensuite shower draining to a separate sump with pump, generous Corian vanity with sink and pressure hot and cold water, storage in two drawers and several lockers. The W.C. is a Sealand Vacuflush type unit.
Opposite to starboard is a hanging locker above which is a shelf and cabinet for the TV. Aft is the U shaped Dining Settee with some bin type storage under and shelves and lockers over. The pedestal type dining table can be lowered to act as a filler converting the settee to a double berth. The yacht's electrical distribution panels are on the bulkhead at the aft end of the settee.
Across to port is the Galley which is U shaped providing an abundance of counter space. Corian counters with double basin stainless steel sink with pressure H&C water. Princess propane three burner stove with convection microwave below, Coolmatic 12 volt refrigeration box with freezer system, and generous storage in several lockers and drawers and top loading dry storage areas. There is a 2nd insulated top loading box to which refrigeration/freezer system could easily be added.
Up three steps (some storage under) to the air conditioned Helm Deck featuring a full length L settee to starboard with bin storage under, and varnished teak pedestal table. To starboard is the helm station with Pompanette pedestal seat. Forward of the L settee is an additional locker and then on the bridge deck the traditional Grand Banks chart locker.
All electronics are located at the helm console starboard side.
Wired for both 12 Volt DC and 120 Volt AC service. A Westerbeke 5 kw generator with 640 hours provides heavier load AC service off the dock while an 1800 Xantrex watt inverter, installed in 2014, handles lighter loads.
