MOONRAKER was designed and built for a long time sailor, and very experienced yachtsman. Her
systems are well thought out, and provide for secure and safe cruising.. While she has
accommodations for two guest couples, or more, shi is a boat that can be short handed. Given her
hull configuration, she runs well in all conditions. She can either be the consumate, fuel saving "long
range cruiser," or she can be "cranked up" to get to port in a hurry. The second, and current owner,
has owned the boat for seventeen years. Like the original owner, the current owner has maintained
the vessel in good condition, including excellent maintenance and upgrades.

Sleeps a total of eight. Two in the forward stateroom, two in the guest stateroom forward to port, two in the main saloon, and two in the master stateroom aft.
This forward V-berth area is the foremost living space of the vessel. To starboard is a large, cedar lined locker with a light. The large double berth, offset to port, hides an air conditioner, the forward 12 gallon holding tank, and an overload protector for the windlass.There are also three drawers, and great storage under this berth. Air conditioning controls, lights and fans are easily accessible, as are the stereo controls. A special folding hideaway can be used in this area to create a very large port to starboard berth. Above is a large Bowmar hatch with solar vent.An Espar heater outlet is located low on the V berth front. Forward of this area is a divided Rope Locker that holds 500' of poly rope with a S/S hawes to port for 300' of od 3/8"HT chain. The windlass is here behind removable panels, as are the foot switch and an electric junction box.
Head is to port of the V-berth area with full shower stall. A washer/dryer combination is installed on the aft bulkhead of the head.Outboard is an Espar heating outlet. There are two cabinets, one with mirror. A sink is outboard with storage above and below. The toilet is forward as is a Corboy trouser press. There is a fan, courtesy light, , bowmar hatch with solar vent, and built in controls for for shower sump, light, and fan.
Accessed through a sliding door at the bottom of the galley stairs, and contains access to the rear of the washing machine, and an air conditioning unit.There is a double berth in this cabin, large hanging locker, and an amazing amount of storage that includes ample drawer space and three cabinets.The cabin has a stereo, air conditioning controls, a fan, Bowmar hatch with solar fan, and an Espar heating vent.
The galley is forward and down from the saloon. To starboard can be found the emergency bilge pump control panel, and the AC/DC sub panel. Below these panels is a four burner LPG stove with oven, and a two burner electric range top. Inboard of the stove is a Thermador trash compactor. A GE Microwave is located just above the rangetop. To starboard is a Grunert110 / engine driven refrigeration unit with timers.This system was upgraded with new holding plates and thermostats.To port is a built in freezer. Additional items of interest include "MOONRAKER" dishes, teak serving tray, Britannia Forge knife set, toaster , and coffee maker.The valves for emergency pumping of the engine room and forward bilge are under the galley steps.
Access to the main saloon is via two sliding doors forward on either side. Two settees that convert to berths, are built in to either side, and a table with folding leaves is on the starboard side.The lower helm area is forward to starboard. The helm is a teak and holy spoked wheel. The forward windshield has washers and wipers..Forward to port is a bar, wet bar, and U-Line icemaker.Above this bar is chart storage.A TV locker is aft of the port settee. A 16,000 BTU air conditioner is under the starboard settee.There are fans, reading lights, and over head lights in the saloon. The saloon deck opens on hydraulic lifts to give complete engine access.
The doorway to the aft stateroom is aft in the saloon. On the left of this stairway is the fuel system panel with light switches below. A cedar lined hanging locker is located on the forward bulkhead of the stateroom.The main outlet for the cabin Espar heating system is below the hanging locker. The aft end of the stateroom has another cedar lined hanging locker with an air conditioning unit below the hanging locker. There are two large bunks running fore and aft on either side of the cabin. There is ample storage under each bunk. There are numerous lights and fans.There is great storage under the aft cabin sole. In addition under the aft cabin sole is the fresh water accumulator tank, emergency bilge pumps, and the macerator pump for the aft head 30 gallon holding tank.
To port in the stateroom is the spacious shower with seat, pump, light and fan controls. Outboard of this shower is a towell storage locker. To starboard in the stateroom is the head compartment. In this compartment is a small sink with faucet.There is some storage under the sink, and two cabinets with mirrors on the forward bulkhead.
Access to the cockpit is through to doorway in the aft stateroom.The capstan lies dead center on the stern, and its foot switch is below the capstan, and to the right. The swim platform access door is just to the right of the capstan. To the left of the capstan and down low is the emergency bilge pump / fire hose station. Further to the left is the cockpit shower with retractable hose. Both port and starboard sides of the cockpit have their own shore power inlet stations.There is a seat with storage below it. There are cockpit lights. Engine room blowers, vent hoses,and generator exhaust systems are accessed from the cockpit. Below the freeman hatch in the center of the cockpit is the lazarette. In here can be found the steering system and rudder lubrication system.In addition are two 75 gallon fuel tanks, and access to the trim tabs. The area is well lit.
All engine controls and gauges have electrical warning systems for oil water and gears.
The mast is located on the forward end of the aft cabintop, and is grounded through a mounting bolt to a dedicated dynaplate below the aft stateroom floor. The mast base is a stout structure, and houses the hudraulic cylinder which raises and lowers the mast. The controls which operate this cylinder are also located here behind a protective plexiglass cover. The masts top section is hinged to this bottom part by a heavy pin. The boom is attached to the bottom of this section.Up the mast from here one will find the ratcheting mechanism for lifting the boom. Higher yet one will find the spreaders, two flood lights and a meal light. Above the spreaders is the radome which houses the scanner for the radar. The bow light is above the radome, as is the radar reflector. At the top of the mast are located the Datamarine wind speed and wind direction indicators. In addition the TV antenna and VHF antenna are located here. To the left of the mast are the steps to the flybridge, and to the right of the mastis the companion way to the main saloon.Also to the right of the mast is a locker housing PFD's and an LPG tank.
The Bridge has a fully enclosed bimini with removable clear vinyl panels. The entry door may be rolled up, or removed entirely. A foot locker is at the port aft end the life raft position is at the starboard aft end. There are two Pompanette chairs, and a full function helm area. On the forward side of the bridge console is a three quarter length seat for passengers. The bottom of this seat is divided into four sections containing a 20 gallon propane tank with transducer connected directly to Xintex liquid level moniter located above the AC/DC panel. Two of the sections are for PFD's. The last locker is for miscellaneous gear.
There are ten Genova stainless steel opening ports, and five Bowmar hatches. The vessel is built upon a Jarvis Newman 46' hull modified by the addition of a 2' swim platform with integral trim tabs, and full length spray rails designed by Kaufman Associates.
The main engines have a 24 Volt starting system that may be completely isolated while the engines are running.
