Introduction
This overview below is basically quoted from a "credible online resource" and nicely sums up what the Industry .. and sailors worldwide .. have known for years now. The ALABARE is Hull No. 3 of this TA SHING-built model and is a first-class cruising vessel by virtue of her pedigrees as well as her maintenance by knowledgeable Owners over the years too.
"The TASHIBA 36 is the last and best of Robert Perry’s canoe-sterned cruising designs. Her slim full keel, sleek underwater configuration, long waterline, and generous sail plan gives a performance that is beyond expectation. She is seakindly, dry and stable, but also fast and efficient. Of the many bowsprit-style cutters available, the TASHIBA 36 stands alone."

Accommodations
The interior teak joinery is finished with a Satin Varnish application. Besides the sealer coats, there are at least (4) coats of hand-rubbed varnish applied at the Factory at time of build. For anyone that has inspected a TA SHING-built yacht, it's clear that this production is second-to-none and rivals those efforts of some of the world's other best quality Manufacturers.
The Headroom throughout is approximately 6'4".
The interior layout for the TASHIBA 36 is as follows: Forward is the V-Berth, very spacious with drawers and storage. There is a large storage area under the V-Berth area. The Head and separate shower stall are just aft of the V-Berth area and to starboard. There are Marble counter tops & a teak medicine cabinet and lots of storage. The Main Salon has a "L" shaped Settee and a large teak dining table which can be lowered for an enlarged extra sleeping area. There is a long Settee on the port side as well that can be used as a single berth. The Galley is on the port side and is in a "Keyhole" Design & a double well-insulated refrigerator compartment with 6" insulation. The Aft Cabin is aft to starboard opposite the Galley with a nice size double berth and very good head room.

RAYMARINE instrumentation connected by a "Sea Talk" feature is located at the Helm Station in an EDSON console. The RAYMARINE ST 6000 Plus Auto-Pilot control, an ST 60 TriData instrument (Depth, Speed, Water Temp, SOG, etc.), and ST 60 Wind (Wind Monitoring Instrument w/ AWI / WS & Close Hauled functions), along with the Bow Thruster Control are all co-located at the Helm Station for access & convenience of operation. A ST 60 Plus Graphic Display Repeater shows the information at the Nav Station.
A RAYMARINE SL 72 Pathfinder Radar Monitor is mounted over the Nav Station. It swings around so it can also be viewed from the Cockpit. The Radome is mounted on a pole at the aft rail slightly to the port side.
A RAYMARINE A-70 Multi-Function Display (MFD) self-contained GPS Chart Plotter is installed next to the Companionway in the Cockpit. The Dodger protects it from weather conditions. It can be viewed from the Helm Station. A STANDARD VHF is mounted in the console at the Nav Station. A wired remote in the Cockpit allows easy communication by the Helmsperson.
A SONY Compact Disk Player, AM / FM radio with speakers in the Cockpit and the Main Salon provides news, weather, and entertainment.
A RITCHIE Globemaster compass is mounted at the Helm Station.
Electrical Systems
Power is provided to the "ALABARE" electrical systems via a 110VAC Shore Power & 12VDC Ship's Service & Engine Systems. There are (2) GUEST Pro Sport 12 battery chargers and an engine 55 AH alternator.
The 12VDC system is powered by (3) battery banks with a total of (5) 12VDC batteries. A single Group 27 battery is used for Engine Start & (2) big 8D batteries that make up the Ship's Service / House Bank are connected only through a XANTREX PathMaker Automatic Power Switch that only connects the Banks when a charging source is available. This eliminates the unfortunate possibility of one Bank draining all of the battery power on the boat. There is a short term manual over-ride .. Battery Parallel Switch .. when batteries must be combined for emergency starting. The Banks, which are connected to separate "on" and "off" switches, are located under the Quarter Berth. The engine alternator, rated at 55 AH, normally charges the (2) Banks, but a GUEST Pro Sport 12 is available as needed. The House Bank power goes to the (18) breaker DC electrical panel.
The third battery Bank, which is located under the V-berth, provides power to the Bow Thruster, the Anchor Windlass and the Wash Down Pump. The Bank is charged by a second GUEST Pro Sport 12 charger.
The Shore Power System is 110VAC and is distributed by (9) branch circuits. There are both AC amperage & DC voltage meters at the pane. The system supports (6) interior outlets. There is a 50' Shore Power Cord. The outlets in the Galley & the Head GFI unit are GFI (Ground Fault protection). From the (2) 30 AH inlets, (1) HUBBELL & (1) MARINCO, on the port side outside of the Cockpit, the line is connected to a GUEST Galvanic Isolator to reduce galvanic currents that cause underwater metal parts to corrode, such as zincs and bronze propellers. From there, the current goes to circuit breakers in the electrical panel box and on to the various electrical components. The electrical bonding system includes, but is not limited to, chain plates, metal seacocks, tankage, engine, mast step, deck plates, and rudder fittings.
