A fine example of the popular 1986 Mirage 2700 Bilge Keel Sailing Yacht with GPS, AIS and Raymarine auto-pilot. Her shallow draft (1.00m) makes her perfect for exploring local creeks. The surprisingly spacious cockpit and interior also makes her a capable and comfortable long distance cruiser. She offers ample storage space. Purchased in April 2014, she was stored ashore over the winter of 2014 2015 where she underwent a comprehensive refit and upgrade.

Why are we selling – We purchased Fortuna in April 2014, as our first foray into the world of cruising. In this time, we have loved sailing her around the Kent & Essex coast, and this experience has lead us to make a fairly significant lifestyle choice. We are now planning to take a year out, from March ’17, to sail around the UK. For this we have decided that we will require a significantly larger yacht and we therefore, regretfully, need to sell Fortuna. She is a fantastic boat. Great to sail, comfortable to live on, very dry, and perfect for exploring the local creeks.
History – We purchased her in April ’14, in Essex. The previous owner had purchased the boat in Jan ’98 and regularly sailed her locally. He had kept her in immaculate condition. I believe that there have only been 3 owners, from new.
Survey – There is a very favourable survey available from our purchase in 2014.
The few issues that were picked up, have all been addressed.
As she had been stored ashore for around 1 year, the surveyor recommended that she had an epoxy hull treatment, which has been done (3 coats of International VC Tar2 – photos available) and antifouled.
General service history – Following our first years sailing in 2014, Fortuna was lifted out and over wintered in a secure storage Yard. During this time, she underwent a major refit and upgrade programme.
