Comments of the Delivery Skipper
I was one half of the delivery team for the Endeavor 33 on the trip from Waukegan Illinois to south Chicago, the Calumet River, and then Crowley's Yacht Yard on Monday 7/18/2016.
The motor started immediately. After tightening 2 hose clamps, the motor ran perfectly for the whole trip, about 8 hours. I'm sorry to say we decided not to sail, taking the easiest path to the destination. We had flat water for the trip, 5-12 kts of wind speed, mostly on the nose or forward of the beam. At 2600 RPMs, we were doing about 6.1 kts of boat speed.
The electronic instruments were working fine. The speed matched the GPS, the wind speed and direction (both apparent wind readings) matched our guesses and the windex. The LCD wind speed readout is easier to read with the light for it turned on. The autohelm did a great job of steering for over 3/4s of the trip.
The stereo pulled in radio tunes and then the Chicago Cubs game, and had plenty of volume.
Joie de Mer received a standard in-water Engine Start & Inspection Report, 7/26/16, at the Crowley docks and came thru with only a few minor routine maintenance items recommended.
