A beautiful example of a Cape Dory 33
The Cape Dory 33 has a very spacious interior with the desirable features of a quarter berth, navigation area, and a u -shaped galley. Navicula's has recently received all new upholstery and new Sunbrella curtains and cushions (2011), and presents in great condition.
Starting aft, the well appointed "U" shaped galley is to port. Double sinks are forward, and are served by hot and cold pressure water faucets and a manual back up faucet. In the outboard section of the counter is a flush mounted Origo 2 burner non-pressurized alcohol stove, and a removable panel can cover the stove when not in use. flush in the aft counter is the large ice box. Storage areas are found outboard of the aft and mid counters, and under the sink.
To starboard of the companionway is a quarter berth, which has a storage shelf above. The hull is lined with ash ceiling strips. Forward of the berth is a navigator's table which has a good sized storage area under to lift top. Electronics are placed nearby, and a locker is located outboard for books and Nav tools.
The main cabin has settees port and starboard with comfortable backrests. The port settee converts to a double berth via a slide out section, and the starboard berth easily becomes a single by folding up the backrest. There are great lockers outboard of each settee an deep shelves above. A dining table is mounted on the centerline, and has 2 folding leafs. Ventilation is excellent, and is provided by 7 opening ports, a Dorade ventilator, and an overhead Bomar hatch, all with screens.
Advancing forward of the main cabin, the head area is to port. A marine toilet is located aft, and a vanity with sink and hot and cold pressure water faucet is amidships. The area is also used for the shower and the faucet has a shower system attached. There is storage in the vanity and outboard of the countertop. Ventilation is achieved via an opening port and a Dorade vent above.
Across from the head in the passageway are two large hanging lockers.
The forward cabin has a privacy bi-folding door. The berths are arranged such that there is a single berth to port with lockers underneath and a seat inboard. to Starboard is another locker. A filler section completes the berth to form a double. Shelves are outboard and the hull is lined with ash ceiling strips. Ventilation is provided by 2 opening ports and a large Bomar hatch above, all with screens.
