Here is what Practical Sailor had to say about the C&C 40:
"...The C&C 40 entered production as a 1978 model, and was phased out in 1983, replaced by the higher performance C&C 41. The 40 has good all-around performance upwind and downwind, it both light and heavy air. Despite a wide maximum beam, the boat's ends are fairly well balanced, and the rudder is deep enough to stay in the water in all but a flat-out broach...."

"Lickety Split" has been in the current owner's family since it was new and was never raced, the first 15 years it was on Lake Ontario with the first family member, and then she headed south to Florida in 1996 with its current owner. On the way down he added the new Yanmar 37 HP engine instead of rebuilding the old one then cruised the East Coast to Southwest Florida. In the years following they cruised the Bahamas many times, then headed to the Western Caribbean down to Honduras, left the boat on the hard then came back the following year to cruise the Eastern Caribbean. They have cruised Florida and the Keys in the years following and now they are ready for new adventures.
"Lickety Split" is Cruise Ready, she will soon be hauled for the summer here in the Punta Gorda area so now is the time to come and see her before she is on the hard, then you can take off on your own adventure....
