Bruce King designs are ever so pretty and this Independence 31 follows the pattern. If you want a modern fibreglass yacht, with a contemporary under-body, but with traditional appointments, this is it. She has recent sails, upgraded engine, electric anchor windless, all chain rode, bronze winches & deck hardware, an all wood interior and a full inventory of cruising gear. She was not in the water and was stored indoors from 2011 to 2014 inclusive.

The yacht sleeps 5 and has 6’2” headroom.
Vee berth forward with seat and storage; hanging locker to port; enclosed head to starboard. The main cabin has a settee to port that extends into the hanging locker so as to attain the length for a berth; full length settee to starboard which pulls-out to make a double berth; large bulkhead mounted, teak table; galley aft to port with a compact navigation station aft to starboard.
The head has a ‘Baby Blake’ high quality marine toilet connected to a holding tank and ‘Y’ valve (recent hoses); copper sink, copper faucets and vanity. The Galley has a 3 burner Galley Maid pressurized alcohol stove with oven; copper sink; brass faucets; large ice-box ;Adler-Barbour refrigeration (2010); and lots of counter and locker space.
The interior is finished to the high standard of this builder with teak bulkheads and trim. This yacht has had the original vinyl deck-head replaced with tongue & groove cedar pained white; teak and holly cabin sole; green striped sunbrella fabric upholstery. There is a 45 US gallon fresh-water capacity in stainless steel tanks supplying the sinks in the head and galley with hot and cold pressure water. Hot water is generated by the heat exchange on the engine (only).
Yanmar model #3HM-35F fresh-water cooled diesel inboard engine installed in 2008; 1992 vintage installed as a re-build; 35 HP; 2008 Hurth transmission (new at the time of installation); 35 US gallon fuel capacity in an aluminum tank; the engine has about 300 hours on it since installation; MaxProp automatic feathering propeller; fuel polishing system employing 2 - #500 series Racor filters and a fuel pump which allows fuel cycling and filtering separate from the (#500 Racor) primary and secondary filters on the engine.
The yacht has both a 12 volt DC and a 110 volt AC system. The former is supplied by an alternator on the engine through a selector switch to 2 lead-acid batteries for engine starting (and windless); and 3 gel-cell batteries for the house system. The 110 volt system is supplied by shore-power connection; 2 X 50’ & 1 X 25’, 30 amp cords included. The yacht has a full complement of LED interior lights, navigation lights, LED anchor light w/ photocell; an automatic battery charger.
