Built in 1978 this Sailfish 25 has been extensively refurbished over the last 2 years. It offers good sailing performance and accommodation with the ability to use drying moorings. The boat comes complete with a set of as new sails, a fully refurbished 4 wheeled road trailer and an inflatable tender with a 2.5hp 2 stroke outboard motor.
This boat is on a swinging mooring a short boat ride from our offices. Please contact Maiden Marine to arrange a viewing.
GRP construction with topaz blue hull and white deck mouldings. Deep self draining cockpit with slatted floor and sprayhood giving added shelter. Transom hung boarding ladder and rudder with tiller steering. Mainsheet traveller mounted on transom to keep cockpit clear. Stainless steel pull-pit and push-pit linked by twin guard wires provide security along with handrails on the sprayhood and coachroof.
Hydraulic lifting keel mechanism brings keel up far enough to allow use of drying moorings and easy trailability.
The boat is powered by the original Hydro Marine 12hp inboard diesel engine. This is a marinised 2-cylinder Kubota engine driving a 3 bladed fixed propeller.
A single 12volt battery (new 2016) provides engine start, instrument and domestic power. The battery is charged via the engine alternator and by a small solar panel mounted on the push-pit.
The Seabo inflatable dinghy is powered by a 2003 Mariner 2.5hp 2 stroke outboard motor.
Burmuden sloop with alloy mast and spars and stainless wire standing rigging. The majority of running rigging has been replaced in the last 2 years.
The sail wardrobe consists of a battened slab reefing mainsail and a furling genoa. The sails were manufactured by Arun sails in 2006 but remained unused until 2015 and so are in excellent condition.
The Sailfish 25 sleeps up to 5 in a fore-cabin with a twin / double V berth, a convertible saloon double berth and a single quarter berth extending under the cockpit seating on the port side. Separating the fore-cabin and saloon are to port a wash basin with manually pumped cold water and storage under and to starboard a heads compartment with chemical toilet and wet locker behind. The portable gas heater is also stored here.
The main cabin has a single seat to port which makes up some of the quarter berth, in front of which is the galley unit. This has a single burner gas cooker, stainless steel sink with drainer and manually pumped cold water. There is space to install a larger oven or for an ice box etc.
The lifting keel retracts into a central keel box and when fully raised is held in place by steel rods which pass through the keel box. To starboard is a U shaped settee which converts to the second double berth. The dining table is mounted on a single leg and is easily removable when not needed. Under the cabin seating is storage and the flexible water tank.
Removing the companionway steps gives access to the inboard diesel engine.
