Designed by Laurent Giles and built in 1973 by Westerly. GRP construction with a blue GRP hull, white deck and superstructure. Tiller steering. Bilge keel, skeg hung rudder configuration.
Single 25hp Volvo diesel engine (1974) through shaft drive to 3 bladed propeller. Cooled by sea water.
Spray hood, swimming ladder, cockpit , guard rails, pulpit, pushpit, 1 hatch (fore), 2 genoa winches, windlass, anchor with chain, various fenders, various warps.
6 berths in 2 cabins. 2 doubles, 2 singles. Forecabin: Twin single vee berths. Saloon: L shaped seating to port with table, converting to a double. Heads: Forward, with sea toilet, vanity locker and washbasin. Hanging locker opposite. Cockpit: Substantial aft cockpit – over 8 ft in length, with lazarette and deep sail locker. Galley: Midships, with twin gas burner, oven, grill, sink. Quarter berths aft, port and starboard.
Summer Sea has been little used in recent years. Basically in clean, sound condition she is in need of some upgrading, but the engine has been serviced recently. Both water heating and refrigerator need servicing or upgrade.
