This Hillyard 8 Tonner has 4 berths in 2 cabins with 1 head. The forward cabin has a good size V berth, with infill to make into a double berth, with storage underneath and an opening hatch to the foredeck. The saloon which has 6ft headroom has 2 single settee berths with blue upholstery. Aft of the starboard bench seat is the chart table with all navigation equipment and storage for charts.
The Galley which stretches across the saloon bulkhead has a 2 burner gas cooker with oven and grill, single sink with manually pumped cold water. Crockery and cutlery are included. The heads forward of the saloon with good headroom has a recently fitted Jabsco marine. The aft cockpit has grey cushion seats and provides a safe and secure area to helm from.
This Hillyard 8 Tonner is a masthead rigged sloop with deck stepped wooden Mast (original) and Boom (original) with slab reefing mainsail and Rotostay furling Genoa. Galvanised wirestanding rigging. Polyester running rigging (updated over last 4 years). 2 x sheet winches.

Located under companionway steps BMC Captain 1.5 1974 23hp inboard diesel engine, last serviced 2011 when new injectors, injector pumopand pre-heater were fitted. Seawater cooled. Single lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive to a 3 bladed fixed prop. 20 Gallon stainless steel fuel tank. Cruising speed of 5 knots and max speed of 6 knots. Engine uses approx ½ gallon per hour at 5 knots.

Copper fastened. Long keel with bilge plates. Lead ballast. Keel hung rudder. Tiller steering. Cruiser stern.
