A "plastic classic" in every way, the Pearson Vanguard is one for the history books. Drawing inspiration from Herreshoff and Alberg, Phil Rhodes had a winner with this design. Pearson built over 400 between 1964 and 1967. The demand for the design came from her pretty lines, sea kindly performance and quality construction. That's why, after more than a half century, they're still popular.
This example has most of the original shortcomings solved. She is diesel powered and has a bow sprit to increase the headsail size and reduce what little weather helm she had. . Hull #269 has the "B" plan layout, with a dinette. By this time in the production run, Pearson had changed from the cutaway full keel, to a long fin/spade rudder underbody, resulting in significantly improved up-wind performance.
She may not have all the bells and whistles aboard, but everything included is in very good condition. Currently dry stored, she's ready for your inspection now!
