Designed by Alfred Mylne and built in 1920, she had a major refit between 2009 and 2011 which gave her a new engine, new rig, refitted interior, all new systems and an extension to the stern with an elegant drawn out counter. Planked in mahogany and larch on sawn oak frames, all bronze and copper fastened. 5 berths including a large double forward. All new Raymarine nav systems. An eye catching yacht with true pedigree.

Designed by Alfred Mylne and built by the Wessex Motor and Sailing Boat Co. of Hamworthy, Poole in 1920. Originally designed with small doghouse and a transom stern, she underwent a major refit in present ownership between 2009 - 2011 when the stern was extended with an elegant counter and a new mizzen mast added with a larger sail area. This work was done professionally to a high standard and overseen by a surveyor throughout the whole process. As well as this the rigging was replaced, a new engine fitted, the interior refitted and all new electrical and plumbing systems fitted as well as a complete cosmetic refit.
An interesting yacht with some very nice equipment all in sound condition. 2011 survey available as well as full details of the recent refit.

Planked in mahogany below the waterline, larch above on sawn oak frames with steamed elm intermediate timbers. Bronze screw fastened into oak frames and copper nails with roves in the steamed timbers.
Grown oak floors all bronze fastened with iron straps in the midships section, fastened with stainless bolts.
Oak centreline with external cast iron ballast keel and bronze keel bolts.
Decks and cockpit
Yacht laid teak deck screwed and glued over a marine plywood sub deck on laminated mahogany deck beams. The aft deck is new in way of the counter and has been feathered into the old deck. Teak is joggled to a king plank with varnished cover boards and toe rails.
Deep self draining cockpit with laid teak thwarts and bridge deck. Scrubbed teak gratings. Water tight hatch in the sole for access to aft bilge.
Coachroof with varnished mahogany coamings and bronze portholes. Laid teak coachroof deck over a ply sub deck with scrubbed teak handrails either side. Pair of varnished skylights on the coachroof deck.
Bermudan yawl rig, cutter headed on laminated and varnished spruce spars. Stainless standing rigging all new in recent refit.
Main mast is deck stepped in a stainless heel fitting with compression posts below. varnished slab reefing boom with lazy jacks. Twin spreaders with stainless jumper struts. Twin lower shrouds, single intermediate and single cap shroud. Inner forestay to the stem head and outer forestay to the bowsprit end. Single line roller furlers on both staysail and jib for ease of handling.
New mizzen mast by Collars is stepped onto the stern post with single spreaders, twin lower shrouds and a single cap shroud. Varnished mizzen boom has a stack pack system for ease of handling.
Running rigging also all replaced in recent refit.
Volvo Penta D2-40 naturally aspirated 40hp diesel in as new condition, installed 2011. Centreline installation with stainless shaft and a Darglow 16" 3 blade feathering propeller. 7 knots cruising speed, 9 knots max.

4 x 12 volt heavy duty batteries in 2 separate banks. Charged from engine alternator with an Adverc charge regulating system or through a 240v charger when connected to shore power.
The interior had a refit in 2000 and is in very nice condition with some good quality joinery finished to a high standard.
5 berths including a quarter berth, 2 settee berths and a double forward.
Steps down over the engine box with galley to port and chart desk facing aft to starboard, quarter berth aft of this.
Saloon settee berths with a centreline dropleaf table. Bulkheads with painted T&G boarding. Nice varnished mahogany joinery with lockers and shelving. Solid fuel cabin heater mounted against the forward bulkhead.
Doorway offset to port going forward with a heads compartment to starboard and a focsle with a large double berth.
Manual sea toilet which discharges into a waste tank beneath the cabin sole. Hand basin with pressurised hot and cold water, drains directly overboard.
Very smart galley with a Plastimo 3 burner gas stove with oven and grill. Stainless sink drains directly overboard with pressurised hot and cold water. top loading fridge in the work surface. Ample customised storage for crockery and galley equipment.
